First of all, this is a beautiful restaurant, georgeous grounds, nice accents, etc. In fact, beautiful is an understatement. Too bad management doesn t take care of some of the notations that follow. The food is not Tex Mex, but rather traditional Mexican. That s OK. But, there is no typical combo plate here (for ex: enchilada, taco, tostada, rice beans), and we were unimpressed with the food. Our enchilada was a thick mass of something (couldn t tell if corn or flour) with almost nothing inside no exaggeration!!!! We were disappointed. But even more disappointing was the service. We waited and waited for drinks (BASKET OF CHIPS COMPLETELY GONE BEFORE THE DRINK ORDER WAS TAKEN) Hellooo, it wouldpatagonia vest discount have been nice to have water with the hot sauce. Also, the waiter forgot about our margarita order and we had to re order. The food was extremely late in coming. We came close to walking out. We received no response, which validates our impression of this restaurant and its lack of customer service. We will not return here even if it is the last place to eat. Three stars is generous relative to the food, but the ambiance was impressive; thus, a compromise.

I take my disabled friend out to eat once a week and it was sometimes worth the drive outbound to eat on their great outdoor area. He smokes, and so I only take him to places that allow smoking and have outdoor areas.

My wife and two friends visited Las Ventanas, the reincarnation of Las Alamedas. It was a Saturday afternoon and we decided to have a snack. We were seated at a lovely table with hand painted Mexican charger plates and a glorious view of the garden. One of my friends and I decided we would have a hamburger, the hamburguesa Azteca. We were Thought it would be a Mexican style boutique hamburger. We expected a thick juicy hamburger on on some sort of artisapatagonia guide jacket quiltedn bread. What we got was a large burger similar to a Jumbo Jack. The bun could have come from Mrs. Baird s thrift shop. The burger patty was obviously of the frozen variety and was about 1/4 inch thick. This was the greasiest burger I had ever had in my life. To compare it to a Jumbo Jack is to do injustice to Jack in the Box. The other meals were satisfactory but a bit pedestrian. The service was abominable. We had to flag down waiters who were hovering near the bar. I half seriously considered getting my emergency light from the car to get their attention. As we left, my friend said, Aside from the lousy food and wretched service, it s a wonderful restaurant. Next time, we will drive the extra 3 miles to go to noisy, crowded Pappasito s. There we will surely get something better than a $13 fast food burger.
