Anyways, it would appear that I have gotten enough of your attention to read this review, so I shall leave you hanging no further. then you have already come to realize that there is a damn Thai restaurant every .5 miles (why is this?). So why should you go out of your way and drive an extra mile for this restaurant? I will give you two reasons.
1. The food is amazing, the best Thai by far I have had in my entire life. Granted I m sure some items on the menu are below par, but I ve been here over 4 times and nothing I ve ordered has ever disappointed. My personal favorite is the drunken noodles.
2. The second reason you should drive an extra mile is the location. It has an awesome theater that shows Indie films, there are a few nice little shops, the lighting and atmosphere makes it feel like you re in the city. . . except this city is easy to get in and out of and has a couple of giant parking garages that are well lit and free to park in.

Ate here for the first time yesterday (7/25/2012) fpatagonia gift card ebayor lunch. We ate outside and the service was pretty slow, but overall we enjoyed our meal. When we try a Thai place for the first time, I usually order pad thai and chicken satay and I use that to measure the restaurant against the other Thai places that we frequent in NoVA. This pad thai was the least sweet that I ve had and I really liked the balance of flavors. Shirlington Thai is my favorite Thai restaurant in the area. Not traditional Thai by any stretch, but in this case that s a good thing. Great place for cocktails and unique, delicious food. It has a pretty sexy interior atmosphere, and good outdoor seating. Great entrees, but even better apps. I would have to recommend the Calamari, and have it as a starter everytime I go.

this probably isn t the ultimate Thai restaurant, but if you want good Thai food,relatively reasonably priced, in a pretty sophisticated environment this is a safe bet. Also, unlike some neighborhood Asian restaurants, they actually offer decent wine choices. You wouldn t come here for the wine but at least you can find drinkable chpoices even by the glass.
Their bowl lunch option is a really good deal, and you can get a good sized nice meal for close to the pripatagonia hiking shoes used by special forcesce of a fast food joint.
